Konocti Bay Sailing Club is a member-driven organization dedicated to the promotion of sailing on Clear Lake. The club has extensive racing and cruising programs to attract all levels of sailing enthusiasts, as well as, social activities throughout the year.
Beginning with the Frostbite Race in March, the Series Buoy Races starting in April along with the Konocti Cup Regatta, KBSC maintains a regular racing schedule on into November ending the year with the Turkey Race. (See OSIRs to keep on sailing through the winter.)
In addition, cruises to interesting and fun locations around the lake provide opportunities for members to get together on their boats under family oriented conditions. Club dinners and other events make for a well-rounded schedule of activities for all.

What is Rumsey?
The natural level of Clear Lake has been maintained by the Grigsby Riffle, which is a rock sill located at the confluence of Cache and Seigler Creeks near Lower Lake. The natural low water level of Clear Lake was established as "Zero Rumsey" and all subsequent lake measurements are based on this elevation.
Zero Rumsey is equivalent to 1318.256 feet (1929 NGVD).
First Time Sailors
The Konocti Bay Sailing Club welcomes first time sailors but we have a few suggestions to make your maiden voyage more enjoyable and safe. We would encourage would be sailors to sail on Wednesdays with the OSIRs. Skippers have more time to teach sailing and the pace is slower.
