First Time Sailors Information
The Konocti Bay Sailing Club welcomes first time sailors but we have a few suggestions to make your maiden voyage more enjoyable and safe.  We would encourage would be sailors to sail on Wednesdays with the OSIRs.  Skippers have more time to teach sailing and the pace is slower.  Also, every fourth Saturday KBSC holds a long race where newcomers are welcomed.  All crew are strongly urged to attend the pre-race meetings - Wed. noon, Sat. 11am.

• Wear a hat.
• Bring water to drink.
• Wear non-skid shoes or sneakers.
• Be prepared to get wet though not every time.
• Be ready to help on board.  Crew moves fast about the boat when we’re racing.  You will have to as well.
• Bring a life preserver if you have one.

You will also be asked to sign the Sailing Activity Release and Hold Harmless Agreement before you sail.
